The latest high quality air guns from Diana-RWS, precision manufactured in Germany, are the RWS Model 5G Magnum Air Pistols. The RWS Model 5G Magnum is a major step in the development of quality precision air pistols. The RWS 5G Magnum screams out a .177 pellet at near rifle velocities using the high-energy, single stroke cocking, break barrel, spring-piston system.
The outward design of the RWS Model 5GM air pistol looks similar to the older Diana Model 5. But the new 5G Magnum has a re-designed, updated spring-piston powerplant. The new easy-to-cock Model 9B air pistol from RWS has a cocking handle that is hinged at the front of the receiver and lifts upward from the rear. The handle actuates a ratcheted wheel that provides a lot of leverage so cocking effort is only eight pounds and yet it is factory rated at over 500 ft/sec. The cocking stroke is longer, but much easier than comparable air guns. Cocking the air gun automatically exposes the breech for loading a pellet into the 8" barrel. In addition to the ambidextrous safety, which resets automatically when cocking, there is a cocking lever lock that must be engaged before the air pistol can be fired.
Sights are adjustable and the right hand grips include a thumb rest. The airgun weighs about 2-lbs 6-oz and is 10.4" long with an 8" barrel. Caliber is .177 and the velocity is factory rated at a whopping 550 fps and is easily approached with lightweight pellets.
